Meet the test crew

The Chew Test is a small, independent operation: real dogs, real stopwatches, and product budgets we genuinely feel. No brand sends us free stuff. No review is sponsored.

The crew

Moose the husky mix sitting in his orange test-day bandana
Lead Destroyer

Moose

60 lb husky mix. Fourteen confirmed toy casualties and counting. If it survives Moose, it earns the badge.

Biscuit the small fluffy dog smiling at the camera
Gentle-Mouth Division

Biscuit

20 lb professional floof. Tests the small-dog and moderate-chewer ratings so Moose doesn't skew the data.

Quality Assurance (Unpaid)

The Auditor

Does not chew. Does not approve of anything. Supervises all testing from elevated surfaces.

How a Chew Test works

1. We buy it. Every product is purchased at retail, like you would. Nothing here is a free sample with strings attached.

2. The dog gets it. Toys go into the daily rotation under supervision. Treats get the stopwatch. Gear goes into service until it breaks or proves itself.

3. We log everything. Days survived, time to destruction, squeaker lifespan, wear patterns, and whether the dog actually cared. The numbers in every review come from that log.

4. Blunt verdict. Buy it, or skip it. If a product is only right for certain dogs, we say exactly which ones.

When you buy through our links, Amazon pays us a small commission at no extra cost to you — that's the entire business model, and it only works if the verdicts stay honest. Read the full affiliate disclosure.
