Somewhere in the Himalayas, someone figured out how to make cheese hard enough to survive a pit bull for two days. We are grateful.
Test notes
Day 1: steady grinding sessions. This is a slow-dissolve chew, not a cracker — progress is measured in millimeters.
Day 2: worked down to the end chunk. Per the instructions we microwaved it, it puffed up like cheese popcorn, and Moose lost his mind. Great final act.
Tooth check: no chips, but this is on the hard end of edible chews — if your dog cracks rather than grinds, skip it.
Bottom line
The best-value edible chew for a patient grinder, with the best ending in the business. Hard-pass only if your dog treats chews like walnuts.
Chomp-approved
- Two full days of work — an eternity for an edible
- It's cheese. Ancient, rock-hard cheese. Dogs find this incredible
- Microwave the last chunk and it puffs into a bonus treat. Zero waste
Hard truths
- Hard enough that aggressive gnawers should be supervised
- Pricey for cheese
- Softens and gets gummy if your dog is a soaker
