We gave Moose the KONG Classic on a Monday. Moose has personally ended fourteen toys this year. We expected a Tuesday funeral.

It is now day 34. The KONG is fine. Moose is not fine about it.

Test notes

Days 1-3: full-power jaw assault. Surface scuffs only. Moose switched tactics.

Day 7: the peanut butter era began. Stuffed, frozen, deployed. One full hour of silence. We checked if he was okay. He was. He was busy.

Day 20: found it buried in the yard. Dug up, rinsed, redeployed. Zero structural damage.

Day 34: we're calling it. The test continues but the verdict doesn't need more evidence.

Bottom line

Every 'indestructible' toy is lying except this one, apparently. Buy the size up from what you think you need, stuff it with something, and enjoy the quiet.

Chomp-approved

  • 34 days with a power chewer and barely a scratch
  • Stuff it with peanut butter and buy yourself an hour
  • Bounces weird, which dogs consider a feature
  • Dishwasher safe

Hard truths

  • Boring empty. Moose ignored it until snacks appeared
  • The red rubber is a lie — it's the ONLY thing here that doesn't die
