Nylabone invented this category and the Power Chew is their heavyweight. Against an actual heavyweight, it went nine days.

Test notes

Days 1-2: strong start, big flavor interest, focused chewing.

Day 5: ends visibly rounding. For comparison, the Benebone took three weeks to reach this state.

Day 9: hit retirement size. Test concluded. Moose looked for it for two more days, which is the nicest thing we can say about it.

Bottom line

For a moderate chewer this is a perfectly good, cheaper option and you can add a point to the score. For genuine power chewers, spend the extra few dollars on the Benebone.

Chomp-approved

  • Cheap enough to lose without grief
  • Flavor coating got instant buy-in
  • Fine for moderate chewers, honestly

Hard truths

  • Nine days against a real power chewer
  • Wore down to retirement size faster than advertised
  • The 'Power Chew' branding is doing a lot of unearned work
